Great Barr has a long tradition of providing teachers for the future. Indeed we are an ‘outstanding’ (ofsted) teacher training school. In response to this we have a new course called Teach Early that provides a pathway for 6th formers to future teacher training.
Universities are insisting on teaching experience before applying for their courses, so our course gives you all the experience you need to access teacher training. The course details are as follows:-
ASDAN COPE level 3 = 70 UCAS points.
You will need to present a portfolio of evidence for assessment.
We provide you with regular work experience in local schools at both Primary and Secondary level, you will be fully supported in accessing the higher level training that PGCE and GTP undertake to ensure you are well equipped to cope with the Teacher training. We have an excellent partnership link to Wolverhampton University who will guarantee you an interview if you have passed this course and meet their requirements for predicted grades.
This is a wonderful opportunity to gain a qualification, work experience and access to future teacher training.
